Cedars-Sinai is pleased to announce that our affiliation with Torrance Memorial is now official.
The relationship will provide opportunities for collaboration in primary and specialty care, expanded access to the latest clinical trials, and efficient sharing of resources between the institutions.
Cedars-Sinai specialists will work with Torrance Memorial physicians to provide patients with consultations and streamlined access to clinical trials and new technologies.
"This is a major milestone for both institutions," says Cedars-Sinai president and CEO Thomas M. Priselac. "The affiliation enables each institution to continue to fulfill its mission and maintain the unique relationships each has with the communities it serves and with its physicians, while providing a platform for a wide variety of collaborations to better serve the region."
Collaboration will begin in areas like advanced treatments for cancer, heart disease, and brain disorders. Cedars-Sinai specialists will work with Torrance Memorial physicians to provide patients with consultations and streamlined access to clinical trials and new technologies.
"As a community-based provider, Torrance Memorial will now have access to the outstanding tertiary and quaternary clinical services and research at Cedars-Sinai, which will be a great benefit to the entire South Bay," says Torrance Memorial president and CEO Craig Leach.

While each institution will continue to operate separately under its existing board of directors and president/CEO, both institutions are now affiliated under a new parent organization, called Cedars-Sinai Health System. The board of the parent organization is composed of representatives from the two entities.
"The affiliation with Torrance Memorial is part of a larger context of collaboration," says Priselac. "Over the past several years, Cedars-Sinai has initiated numerous innovative partnerships, affiliations, and other working relationships with a variety of health care providers to help enhance access, coordination, and quality of care for patients throughout the region."
